Inclusive LGBTQ Support and I’m Here to Help!

For much of my life, I struggled with being open about who I really was. Serving in the United States Air Force taught me discipline, strength, and pride, but being a gay man in the military also came with challenges. The stigma surrounding homosexuality made coming out difficult, especially in an environment where traditional ideas of masculinity were so deeply rooted. As a proud father to my son, I eventually realized that living honestly and being true to myself was one of the most important examples I could set. Coming out wasn’t just about accepting my sexuality; it was about finally finding the courage to live life on my own terms.

Over the years, my outlook on life has changed in ways I never expected. I used to love big, powerful, stereotypical jock cars, but as I learned more about the damage we’re doing to our environment, I began embracing fuel-efficient, eco-friendly vehicles. My political beliefs evolved, too. I was once a Republican, but as I started questioning what I’d always believed and seeing the world from different perspectives, I found myself aligning more with the Democratic Party and its support for equality, environmental protection, and LGBTQ+ rights. These changes weren’t always easy, but they helped me become a more compassionate, open-minded person.

Today, I live in Florida and enjoy traveling for work, meeting new people, and experiencing different places and cultures. Since coming out, I’ve also discovered how much I enjoy the LGBTQ+ community, especially attending drag shows, celebrating Pride, and surrounding myself with people who aren’t afraid to be themselves. I’m continuing to learn about LGBTQ+ history, activism, and how I can do my part to fight for gay rights and equality. My journey has taught me that it’s never too late to grow, change your beliefs, or embrace who you truly are. I’m a veteran, a father, a proud gay man, and someone who’s finally learning to live without apology.
